THQ and Codeglue Announce Rocket
Riot for Xbox LIVE Arcade

THQ Inc. and Codeglue B.V. today
announced that the highly anticipated original title Rocket Riot has passed
certification and will be released on June 17th. The game will be available for
download via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and
entertainment system from Microsoft for 800 points.

"We view Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox
360 as a natural fit for many of our established casual brands, as well as an
opportunity to serve up new gaming content," said Doug Clemmer, senior vice
president, THQ. "We’re excited to bring a new original title like Rocket Riot to
Xbox LIVE Arcade."

"We are very excited to bring our
first console game to the Xbox LIVE Arcade platform," said Peter de Jong, CEO,
Codeglue "Rocket Riot fits this platform perfectly as it mixes the visuals of
classic 8-bit videogames with the power of the Xbox 360, resulting in a visual
style never seen before."

In Rocket Riot, players will
experience explosive side-view shooting action in a highly stylized 8-bit era
graphical style. Strapped to a bazooka soldier while blasting their way through
enemies and online multiplayer foes, gamers will navigate through a completely
destructible environment uncovering special power-ups and even burrowing into
different areas of the map as part of both defensive and offensive play. With a
regenerating map, the action is fast-paced, but time won’t heal all wounds.

Additional features include:

  • 80 single-player themed missions
    with a variety of goals.

  • Four multiplayer modes against up
to eight players on Xbox LIVE or up to four players on a single screen.

  • Character customization with
players selecting their soldier’s color, armor and more.

  • Player power-ups increase a
character’s destructive powers or humorous disadvantages, including guided
rockets, massive block destruction, rocket magnetism, and dizzy missiles.
