This week’s downloadable Nintendo poop 3/8/2012

Happy Thursday, GameZone readers! It's that day of the week where I let you know exactly what Nintendo has on tap for its various digital platforms. In the past, Nintendo's download shops were rife with garbage and digital shovelware. It's great to see that things have largely changed, and now we get some really cool games almost every week. Check out the latest selection of downloadable titles right here.

A couple of weeks ago, the Wii Virtual Console got the Sega Genesis classic, Strider. This week, WiiWare takes a step back and the Virtual Console shines once again. For 900 Wii Points, you can download The King of Fighters '97. If you're a fighting game fan and feel like doing it old school, this one may deliver the experience you're looking for.

On DSiWare we've got Zuma's Revenge for 800 DSi Points ($7.99 for 3DS users). GameZone's own Lance Liebl reviewed the game, giving it a great score of 8.5 / 10 and saying that the DS title was addictive and offered something for gamers who wanted to enjoy it in short bursts or get hooked on for longer sessions. Check it out if you dig PopCap's games.

The 3DS eShop has two downloadable titles this week. The first, Fun! Fun! Minigolf TOUCH!, is priced at $4.99. Just look at all those exclamation points! If minigolf isn't your thing, then maybe you'd like to crack some crazy fools in the face in one of the greatest boxing games of all freakin' time. That's right, Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream has landed on the 3DS. If you haven't already, you should definitely check it out. It's easily one of the best games of the NES era. This one will run you $4.99.
