MYSTERY

Redwood
City, Calif., November 16, 2000 – Konami of America Inc., and Universal
Interactive Studios announced today that the action/adventure game The Mummy
has shipped to stores nationwide for the PlayStation® game console. Developed
by Rebellion Interactive Limited and produced by Universal Interactive
Studios, The Mummy mirrors the chilling adventure of the highly acclaimed film
The Mummy by Universal Studios in awesome 3D detail.

The
Mummy for PlayStation will carry a suggested retail price of $39.99. Versions
for the Game Boy® Color, PC CD-ROM, and Sega Dreamcast will also be
developed. The game is rated “T” for “Teen” by the ESRB.

“The
Mummy will thrill both fans of the movie as well as fans of the 3D action
adventure game genre” said Jason Enos, Product Manager at Konami of America.
“The spine-tingling encounters, fast-paced action and arcade style puzzles
will keep players at the edge of their seats.”

As
Rick O’Connell, players combat the living dead and other ghostly residents
of Hamunaptra, City of the Dead. The game puts the fate of the film’s heroes
in the hands of the player as they search for treasures and attempt to defeat
Imhotep, the guardian Mummy. There are numerous mummies to battle, each with
their own unique abilities, plus a horde of other creepy characters such as
scarabs, spirits, and swarms of locusts. Complete with terrifying visuals and
sound effects fashioned after the hit movie, The Mummy will thrill those who
dare to enter its grim and cavernous paths. The locations depicted throughout
have been re-created from the screenplay of the film and include interactive
environments such as trap doors, pitfalls, breakaway platforms and hidden
traps. Customized character behavior and real-time action lend authenticity to
the game settings. Aspheric pre-lighting, spot effects and live sparks
highlight the chilling action hiding around every corner.
