The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Lands November 20
For some time now, Zelda fans have been eagerly awaiting for Nintendo to announce the launch date for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. For some reason, and it's a secret to everybody, Nintendo has been really weird about releasing launch details for Link's upcoming adventure. Thankfully, the Big N finally delivered the goods.
In a recent press release, the company announced that Skyward Sword would land in North America on November 20. As expected, the game is hitting the Wii just a short while before the end of the year. This makes the game a great gift idea for the holiday season, but let's face it, most of us will probably have already played the game by the time the gift-giving holidays come around. I mean, come on, it's Zelda!
According to the press release, Skyward Sword "sends the storied series to new heights and marks a turning point for the franchise." Additionally, Nintendo stated that the upcoming game will "lay the foundation for the events in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." It's going to be very interesting seeing how the story in Skyward Sword plays out, and what kinds of plot details unfold as the game progresses.
The press release also touches on the game's environments: "The game includes a massive, multilayered world that takes players from dark dungeons to a diverse overworld to cloud cities in the sky, requiring a combination of puzzle-solving and swordplay to unlock all of its secrets. Link soars through the air on the wings of a majestic bird while exploring the game's sky area, providing players with unprecedented freedom of movement as they progress on their adventure."
So, who else is ridiculously stoked? The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword hits the Wii this November. Still no word on whether the game will come bundled with a Wii Remote plus, but we're likely to learn more details on the matter in the near future. Watch out for Link's upcoming adventure this holiday season.
