The Shadowgate closed beta starts today and it’s not too late to join

So, when was the last time you took a step into Castle Shadowgate? If you’ve only played the first version, the answer could be 25 years at this point. Regardless of your answer, don’t you think that answer should be today? Well, it could. The closed beta for Shadowgate begins today to those who gained access via Kickstarter or who have bought the pre-order “Hero” tier.

Unfortunately, you missed the boat on the Kickstarter access but the pre-order “Hero” tier is still very available if you can’t wait another moment! This purchase will get you a Steam key, wallpapers, world calendar, digital soundtrack, NES score, digital book, digital map, early release, and of course – beta access. So there ya go.

“Launching the closed Beta of Shadowgate is an exciting step for us as we give gamers an early taste of the bold adventure that awaits,” said Karl Roelofs, Design Director at Zojoi. “The new graphics and eerie music create an atmosphere that transports gamers from their everyday lives into this harrowing dark adventure that’s both classic and completely new. Of course, the great part is that players will quickly learn that this new castle is as deadly as the last.”

STILL on the fence? Check out the new trailer above and read my interview with Karl Roelofs, I bet in no time you’ll hop off that old fence of yours. Enjoy.
