The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Outsells MW3, Claims Top Spot in UK Sales

Coming off of their Game of the Year victory at the Spike TV Video Game Awards, it was revealed that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has taken the number one spot in the UK Sales chart.

Skyrim had jumped 4 spots, going from 5th last week to number one this week.  Among the games leapfrogged were Just Dance 3, FIFA 12, ASsassin's Creed: Revelations, and Modern Warfare 3 - which had held the top spot for 4 consecutive weeks.

Skyrim's boost in sales was likely thanks to a price cut last week, but even so I originally expected FIFA 12 to overthrow the giant FPS MW3.  For the most part, the top 10 remain the same as last week, just swapping positions.  Here is the rest of the top 10, as of the week ending December 10th,  according to the UK sales chart.

  1. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
  2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
  3. Just Dance 3
  4. FIFA 12
  5. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
  6. Battlefield 3
  7. Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call
  8. Saint’s Row: The Third
  9. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception
  10. Mario Kart 7
