The Division PC ‘more than a port’ of console version

Ubisoft crafts The Division to feel native to PC

Ubisoft spent the past few days touting the PC version of Tom Clancy's The Division, calling it "more than a port" of the console version.

“The main goal during the development of the PC version of The Division was to give players the version of the game they wanted," Ubisoft said in a blog post dedicated to the PC version of The Division. "We didn’t want to just port the console version for them, but to instead craft an experience that felt native to PC from the start."

One of the key features they addressed was navigation through the UI on PC. "If you have a mouse and a keyboard, the way you navigate is very different than the navigation with a controller," the developer said.

Ubisoft didn't get into specifics, but did say PC players can expect "full support" for mouse and keyboard as well as controller. "If you have a system with both options set up, we also support that. If you want to switch from mouse and keyboard to controller in the middle of the game, you can do it!”

Additionally, you'll be able to customize your UI on PC. You'll have the ability to move, scale, and adjust the opacity of a "good portion" of the HUD to suit your preference. Beyond HUD, you'll also be able to tweak "a wide variety" of graphics options.

Yesterday, Ubisoft posted the minimum and recommended PC specs, which you can check out here. There were some concerns of a visual downgrade from what was shown at E3 back in 2013 following the latest round of previews, but two new screenshots posted alongside the PC specs suggest the game will look just fine on PC.
