After much anticipated, the annual Steam Holiday (or Winter) Sale has finally arrived. For many, today is the official start of the holiday shopping season as some of the year's most popular games see massive discounts via Valve's digital storefront.
As per usual, the Holiday Sale consists of daily deals, 6 new "flash" deals every 12 hours, and one "Community's Choice" game. For the Community's Choice, you'll be presented with three different titles and the community will then vote on which game gets a bonus discount. A new vote will be held every 24 hours and 1 vote gets you 1 of this year's Holiday Trading Cards.
This year's Holiday Sale offers a total of 10 special, limited time cards that you can earn during the event. You can get Trading Cards in a number of ways: as a reward for purchasing from the Steam Store (1 card per $10 USD or equivalent), crafting game badges, voting in the Community’s Choice sale (1 card per 1 vote), by trading, or by purchasing them in the Community Market. Once you collect all ten you are able to craft the Holiday Sale 2014 badge.
