Telltale teases possible Game of Thrones details

Details regarding Telltale Games' video adaptation of Game of Thrones have been scarce since it was first announced back in December 2013. Aside from it not being a prequel, very little is known about the game, other than series creator George R.R. Martin's personal assistant is helping consult with the story. However, over the weekend, Telltale might have dropped the first clue regarding the actual setting of the game.

Admittedly, I'm no expert when it comes to the Song of Ice and Fire series. I've only just started watching the Game of Thrones HBO series, though I've already blasted through to season four. But the teaser Telltale provided over the weekend features a quote from the latest book in the series, A Dance With Dragon.

"...Trackers and hunters sworn to Deepwood with clan names like FORRESTER and Woods, Branch and Bole," the excerpt reads.

"Game of Thrones, a Telltale Games series #IronFromIce".

The House Forrester clan has been mentioned in the series, but has yet to have been directly featured in the book series. According to series lore, House Forrester is "a noble house from the wolfswood in the North. It is sworn to House Glover of Deepwood Motte." Deepwood Motte is said to hold loyalty to House Stark in Winterfell.

Since Telltale's adaptation will run concurrently with the main story, it makes sense that the focus would be on the background characters of the world as opposed to focusing on the central storyline.

With The Walking Dead Season Two and The Wolf Among Us Season One both wrapped up, it appears that Telltale is turning its attention towards Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones. So expect more of these types of details to emerge in the coming months.
