Tecmo Koei developing Pokemon Conquest

Nintendo is preparing to release Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 this June in Japan, but the company has made another announcement: Tecmo Koei will be developing a new title, Pokemon Conquest.

The turn-based strategy game takes place in feudal Japan and features six-on-six battles and nearly 200 Pokemon, including some from Pokemon Black and White. Players will build armies and battle neighboring kingdoms.

Pokemon fans are always interested in playing in new environments and experiencing new adventures,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “Pokemon Conquest gives them an entirely new way to enjoy this beloved series .”

Pokemon Conquest is a sure deviation from the familiar formula, but this could be the game for fans who crave a fresh experience. The game is due out June 18 in the US.
