Team Ninja Will Consider Ninja Gaiden for Vita
Ninja Gaiden 3 is slated for release sometime in 2012, and gamers are eagerly anticipating its launch. In a recent feature on PlayStation UK, Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi answered a number of questions from fans regarding the game. One of the questions asked if the developer would bring the series to the PlayStation Vita, and Hayashi's answer was most certainly very interesting.
According to the Team Ninja head, the company is currently focusing all of its efforts on Ninja Gaiden 3. As we all know by now, the game is in development for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and at this year's E3, Nintendo teased a Wii U version of the game. It's apparent that the folks over at Team Ninja have their hands full at the moment.
That said, interest in bringing Ninja Gaiden to the Vita is certainly there, stated Hayashi. "We received a PlayStation Vita system and are thinking about," he said. "Having said that, right now we're focused on Ninja Gaiden 3 for PS3, and after that's complete we'll start to look at ideas such as bringing out Ninja Gaiden on PS Vita because of course we'd like to expand the series."
Those are some interesting statements coming from Hayashi. Given the Vita's power, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a Team Ninja game (most likely Ninja Gaiden) landing on the portable system. Of course, we won't know anything for sure for some time, as the developer is obviously focusing entirely on the console versions of the game.
