Though Super Smash Bros. won't have a true online ranking system, it will however rank players according to their Solo careers. Whatever players accomplish during their solo exploits, that will be added to their overall score called the Global Smash Power. This number will then rank you against other players and their accomplishments.
It's strange that this ranking system only applies to the Solo mode, and not the online portion, but it's another way for players to try and constantly get better at the game, and outrank their friends.
