Super Mario Maker will feature custom stages from Nintendo World Championships 2015

History was made for some of the Nintendo Treehouse staff

For all the announcements and games showed off during Nintendo's Digital Event and the live demonstrations with Nintendo Treehouse, there's still much talk about the final stage of Nintendo World Championships 2015. Super Mario Maker prompted energetic audience participation both from Nintendo fans on-site and at their homes, who were watching the edge-of-your-seat competition transpire. The four courses played by the final two contestants in the tournament were not hand-picked; they were custom-made courses created internally by Nintendo Treehouse staff.

In light of the excitement surrounding these courses, Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka made a special announcement as the Nintendo Treehouse segment came to a close: The four courses that made up the final stage of Nintendo World Championships 2015 will be included in the final release for everyone to play. Two of the Nintendo Treehouse staff who created the courses were on-hand at the time and were rendered speechless by the unexpected announcement that closed off the show.

If you watched the tournament thinking that you wanted to host your own using the same conditions, now you'll have everything you need to match it after the real thing.
