Star Wars fans petition to replace Episode 9 director with George Lucas

This will more than likely be ignored by Disney.

In the case of Colin Trevorrow, rumors proved to be true. The Jurassic World director was revealed to be the director of the third installment in the new Star Wars trilogy, Episode IX. While Trevorrow prepares for the undertaking that is Star Wars, fans have begun to display a displeasure with his role in the trilogy — mostly they don't think he's the right man for the job.

"We have no problem with Colin Trevorrow, but he's not the right guy to direct Star Wars Episode IX," reads a petition to remove Trevorrow from acting as director. "George Lucas as director of Episode IX would be the perfect way to end this new trilogy and make an epic farewell between the father of Star Wars and the whole universe of the galaxy far, far away…"

Fans may want George Lucas back on the project, but it seems unlikely that the esteemed director would agree to returning. In the recent months, Lucas has revealed his displeasure working with Disney, calling them 'white slavers' (later apologizing for his wording) and saying that filming Star Wars movies isn't 'much fun.'

It appears as though general consensus has fans saying the J.J. Abrams film wasn't so bad, however, considering the film is doing phenomenally in the box office. Maybe we can get Disney to agree to bring him back?

The question is… Who would be the best Star Wars: Episode IX director? Trevorrow, Lucas or Abrams?
