Star Fox Zero getting its own animated short film

The battle begins

 
 
Star Fox Zero is set to release later this week and Nintendo is planning a special animated short to get fans of the series pumped.
 
The animated film will be debuting on April 20 which will then be followed up with a special Nintendo Treehouse live stream that will showcase Star Fox Zero's companion app, star Fox Guard.
 
The film is titled Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins and it is produced in collaboration with Shigeru Miyamoto, Production I.G., and WIT Studio. In addition to the awesome news, we also go a 30-second teaser trailer which you can watch above.
 
Hopes have been high ever since the E3 announcement of the Wii U game last year, despite the release date having already been pushed back from the 2015 holiday season to late April this year. SFZ boasts new maps and stages, as well as masterful renderings of the old favorites.
 
Star Fox launches on April 21 for the Wii U.
