Move over R2, there's a new droid in town. Since the first teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans have absolutely fallen in love with BB-8. And now, fan-adored droid is about to have the coolest toy we've seen yet.
With Force Friday's pre-toy unboxing event fully underway, we're really starting to see some cool toys get revealed. The latest was Sphero's BB-8 app-enabled droid.

At first look, the new toy looks like a BB-8 you can control with your smartphone or tablet. But it does so much more than that. Sphero's BB-8 has an adaptive personality that changes as you play. "Based on your interactions, BB-8 will show a range of expressions and even perk up when you give voice commands," Sphero says.
Additionally, it looks like Sphero has three specific modes that allow for different functionality. In Patrol mode, you can design a rout and have BB-8 explore autonomously. In Drive mode, you take control of BB-8 with your smart device and set off on your own adventure. Lastly, in Message mode, you can create, send, and view virtual holographic recordings.
