Soul Calibur V Gets a Renaissance Assassin

As was previously leaked, that Ezio could possibly be joining the ranks of fighters in the upcoming Soul Calibur V, it looks like its now official.

If you look back to previous Soul Calibur releases, Link, Heihachi and Spawn appeared in various versions of Soul Calibur 2, and Yoda, Darth Vader and Starkiller appeared in Soul Calibur 4. The tradition continues with Ezio Auditore de Firenze appearing as a playable character in Soul Calibur V.

The trailer shows Ezio donning his Brotherhood attire, rather than the one revealed in Revelations, and will be voiced by the same voice actor found in the Assassin's Creed games.

Ezio seems like the perfect match for a fighter like Soul Calibur. Being a game that focuses heavily on weapon based combat, Ezio has enough finesse with a blade to make quick work of his opponents. Though rest assured that his trademark hidden blades will be available as well.

So far Ezio was the only crossover character revealed but there is still enough time, as well as more than enough room in the roster to include some other characters from great franchises.

Who do you want to see make the jump to Soul Calibur?
