Sony: PSN Undergoing Maintenance Tonight

After the unexpected PlayStation Network downtime last week, Sony is covering their butts. After multiple rumors of another hack when PSN went down in the UK, Sony has announced that the PlayStation Network will be offline for an hour tonight.

Don't be alarmed. This time it is planned maintenance from 5pm to 6pm UK time, Sony has announced. PSN has been a nightmare this past year facing multiple hacking attempts and unannounced crashes so it's no surprise Sony is being extra cautious by alerting it's users.

During that hour of downtime, all PSN services, including Store, Registration, Customer Account Management and PlayStation Home, will be unavailable.

Of course, Sony is taking no chances, warning users that PSN may remain offline after the hour is up "for testing purposes".

If you're already signed in before the beginning of the maintenance you "should" be able to remain signed in, Sony said.
