Sony: 'Sorry to keep you waiting' for PS4 update 1.70
Last week, Sony said the eagerly awaited PlayStation 4 update 1.70 -- the one that introduces SHAREfactory and enables the ability to turn off HDCP -- would be "coming soon." For many, that meant sometime this week. For those who believed the rumors, that means April 30. Whatever the date may be, Sony is "sorry" to keep us waiting.
Over on the Europe PlayStation Blog, Sony community manager Fred Dutton apologized to PS4 owners eager for the new update. "We'll confirm a release date very soon - sorry to keep you waiting," Dutton said when asked if he had an idea of when it will be out.
Given the features this update will implement, the impatience is certainly understandable, especially given the relative slowness by Sony. Compared to Microsoft, which has already issued quite a few updates for the Xbox One, Sony is moving at a snail's pace with the PS4. Of course, I'm sure we'd all rather they take their time with the update then rush it out and crash the system.
