Sony declines comment on slow PlayStation Vita sales

All it took was two weeks of slow sales for people to declare the PlayStation Vita dead.  After a debut which saw roughly 320,000 units sold, the PlayStation Vita sales dropped 78% in the second week.  With the PS Vita failing to maintain any momentum after launch, selling only 72,000 units compared to the Nintendo 3DS selling over 400,000, many are already claiming the Vita is a lost cause.

While the rival handheld Nintendo 3DS continues to thrive, outselling the Vita 6 to 1, Sony is remaining mum.

According to Bloomberg Japan, SCE PR head Satoshi Fukuoka declined to comment on the slumping sales of the PS Vita.  However, if this sales trend continues I fully expect Sony to make some type of statement.  I hardly doubt they'll sit back and watch sales suffer.

Yesterday it was reported that the Vita's software was underperforming as well, with 4 titles appearing in the bottom half of Media Create Sales Top 50 for the week of December 19 to December 25th.
