Sonic Generations Headed to 3DS, PC?
Sonic Generations has certainly gotten fans of the blue blur talking. The upcoming game from Sega appears to be yet another return to form for the iconic blue hedgehog, and gamers couldn't be more excited to see what the future holds for the titular hero. So far, the game has been confirmed for release on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, but could the title be headed to the Nintendo 3DS and PC, as well?
A recent Sega Sammy earnings report includes data for other upcoming titles such as Yakuza of the End and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. But the chart also indicates that Sonic Generations will be headed to the 3DS and PC, as translated by Andriasang. Could this be a blunder on the part of Sega? Or is the company really planning on releasing the upcoming Sonic title for those two platforms?
Though a Sonic Generations release for PC would likely yield similar results as the XBLA and PSN versions, the concept of Sonic Generations on the 3DS has tons of potential. Because the game will feature both 2D and 3D (non-stereoscopic) gameplay, taking advantage of the handheld's 3D (stereoscopic) capabilities could provide an eye-catching experience. Besides, Sonic has to make his 3DS debut sometime. Why not do it with the next game?
Currently, nothing has been confirmed for either the 3DS or PC, but we'll keep you posted as more details surface. Sonic Generations will speed onto XBLA and PSN this winter. Watch out for it.
