Some News on Two More Dragon Quest Games
For some gamers, it's all about Dragon Quest X now. After the major announcement in Japan from Square Enix, there's no doubt that fans of the series are now eagerly anticipating the future Wii and Wii U online RPG. But the publisher is also involved in other related projects in the franchise aside from Dragon Quest X.
Remember Dragon Quest Heroes? That's the spin-off of the main Dragon Quest series that delivers more of an action-adventure experience as opposed to the franchise's traditional RPG mechanics. Well, the third entry in the series (second here in North America) has been announced and dated for Japan. Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 3 will arrive on the 3DS in the land of the rising sun on November 2, and it will feature a pirate theme. Here's hoping we get a North American localization.
The second round of business I'm happy to report regards Itadaki Street Wii, known to us North America dwellers as Fortune Street. The game has been dated for December 1 in Japan, which hopefully means we'll get it shortly after. Considering the game has been tentatively scheduled for a Q4 release here in North America, it's likely we'll get what I believe will be the Mario Party killer (though that series has kind of killed itself already) before the end of the year.
So there you have it, folks. A new Dragon Quest Heroes game and Fortune Street are both inching their way toward release. We'll be sure to have more information on the North American development of both titles as details become available.
