So You CAN Delete Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions Saves!
When gamers found out that they couldn't delete their saves in Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions for the 3DS, they were pretty upset. After all, this type of practice pretty much kills the used game market, and in a title that relies on the presence of high scores, this is a big no-no. Namco Bandai addressed the situation, stating that this feature was intended so that the same copy of Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions wouldn't be played on multiple 3DS systems, as doing so would cause the same scores to appear on the leaderboards repeatedly.
This really just seemed like a bullshit approach to force gamers to keep their copies of Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions, regardless of whether they wanted to or not. The market really thrives on the used game model, and for games to start negating said model would definitely affect the more cost-mindful gamers out there. It has been revealed, however, that there is actually a way to delete saves in Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions.
According to Namco Bandai, pressing ABXYLR while starting up the game will delete the in-game save and revert the title to its original settings. This is definitely great news, and it's a decent method for deleting what we thought was a crappy perma-save file. That said, why the heck did Namco Bandai keep this a secret until now?
Could it be that the company initially didn't want gamers to return their copies of Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions? Did all of the negative backlash make them crack and reveal the secret delete method against their own will? In any case, at least they've remedied all of this nonsense. Next time, though, a "delete save" feature on the menu would be greatly appreciated.
