Smithsonian Hosting Art of Video Games Exhibition

The Smithsonian American Art Museum is making preparations for an exhibition dedicated entirely to video games. Titled “The Art of Video Games,” the showing will be open to the public from March 16, 2012, to September 30, 2012. Currently, the Smithsonian is allowing people to vote on entries at the official Art of Video Games website.You can vote for 80 different games (or vote 80 times for a single game, if you’re one of those people) among a total of 240 possible titles from throughout gaming history.

Games such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Earthbound, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Paper Mario, Banjo-Kazooie, Heavy Rain, and Monster Hunter Tri are all available picks for entry into the museum’s six-month exhibition.
