Skyward Sword Gets a New Trailer at GDC

A new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was shown off to those in attendance at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Nothing altogether new is featured in the trailer, but we do get a glimpse of some motion-controlled tightrope walking and puzzle-solving as well as more MotionPlus combat. The trailer shows some interesting characters and enemies, and it certainly makes the Zelda fan in me want to see more.

As Nintendo has revealed Skyward Sword footage, it has become apparent that this game will be extremely colorful, which should be refreshing given the dark tones of some of the series' enemies and themes. Gamers have made plenty of comparisons between this game's graphical style and the cel-shaded art of Wind Waker, and while the similarities are certainly there, Skyward Sword seems to exude a different vibe. Nintendo has stated that something noteworthy may be happening in accordance with Zelda's 25-year anniversary this year. It's going to be exciting seeing what Nintendo does to celebrate 25 years of Zelda.
