Shadows of the Damned Sees Poor Sales
I loved playing Shadows of the Damned. After scouring the internet and talking to friends, I know I'm not the only one. Sure, the game has a couple of hiccups, but it is an overall impressive experience. Unfortunately, there's a little problem.
It appears that Shadows of the Damned isn't faring well on the commercial front, and I'm not OK with that.
According to Joystiq, the game only managed to sell 24,000 copies on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 combined. Those aren't good sales figures, and the fact that the game isn't selling well during a slow release season is even more ridiculous. People, you need to play Shadows of the Damned!
OK, I get that a lot of mainstream gamers might not be too familiar with Grasshopper Manufacture. Hell, prior to getting Shadows of the Damned, I didn't know anyone who had the game on their radar. It's a shame, too, because this venture between Suda51, Shinji Mikami, and Akira Yamaoka is easily one of the best games I've played all summer, and more people should definitely check it out.
Honestly, if you want a solid action-adventure game, you need to check out Shadows of the Damned. Read my review of the game and see for yourself why this joyous action romp is worth your money. This is exactly the type of instance where you can completely ignore my number rating and just stick to the text to see why this game kicks as much ass as it does.
Here's hoping sales for Shadows of the Damned increase in the coming months.
