Shadows of the Damned Launching on the First Day of E3
Shinji Mikami, the famed creator of the Resident Evil series, made an announcement regarding the release date of Shadows of the Damned, his joint venture with Goichi Suda (aka Suda51, the man behind No More Heroes). It was confirmed that the upcoming survival horror game would launch on June 7 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Mikami described the game as a "psychological action thriller: "[Shadows of the Damned] is our vision of hell, taking gamers on a journey through a demented underworld."
But while the announcement of Shadows of the Damned is certainly exciting, especially since Mikami stated that the game would be "really unique and really quite different to any other action horror games," there seems to be conflict in terms of the release date. June 7 is not only the launch date for Shadows of the Damned, but also the first day of this year's E3. And while certain gamers may make the time to go out to their local retailers to pick up the game bright and early, others may not be willing to due to the reveals that are likely to be announced at the big event in Los Angeles (not to mention all the attendees).
It's possible that the Grasshopper Manufacture-developed title will see a minor delay or possibly even a bump to an earlier date. If not, Day One sales may provide somewhat underwhelming results.
