SDCC 2017: DC announces Flashpoint movie, Wonder Woman 2, and more

So many movies!

DC has a lot on their plate for future movies. They're ending 2017 with a bang in the form of Justice League and rumors suggest that Shazam and The Batman will begin filming at the start of 2018. Aquaman will close at the year and then after that, there are some fairly vague release windows for other flicks.

Despite some movies having an uncertain future, DC doubled down by announcing a couple of brand new movies such as Wonder Woman 2 and they renamed Flash's movie to the characters iconic storyline, Flashpoint. and Justice League Dark. Justice League Dark has been in the works for a very long time but there's been a lot of doubt of whether that'll ever see the light of day and it seems like DC is committed to releasing it.

The official list of movies showcased at DC's Comic-Con panel included Justice League, Flashpoint, Suicide Squad 2, The Batman, Aquaman, Justice League Dark, Green Lantern Corps, Shazam, and Batgirl. Cyborg, Nightwing, and a few others were notably missing from the panel but it's possible that these films are just further along since movies like Cyborg aren't even supposed to hit theaters until 2020.

With all that said, it looks like we're going to be getting a jam-packed few years of DC movies. Outside of Justice League and Aquaman, none of these movies were detailed. We're not sure if Jeffrey Dean Morgan will play Batman in Flashpoint since he was Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman, we're not sure if Patty Jenkins is returning for Wonder Woman 2, and we're not even sure who will be playing Green Lantern, Batgirl, or Shazam.

In related news, Ben Affleck reassured us all that he will indeed continue playing Batman after rumors began circulating that he was looking to hang up the cape and cowl. You can click here to read his very enthusiastic statement.

Justice League releases on November 17th, 2017. You can click here to see a brand new trailer.
