Say goodbye to the Monster Hunter Tri servers on April 30

Capcom has announced that it will be shutting down the servers for Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii. Players will no longer be able to access that title's online multiplayer starting April 30, six weeks following the launch of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U and 3DS.

The company stated that it hopes to create a new home for fans of the series in the upcoming title. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate launches on March 19, so be prepared to have your affairs in order before you either make the switch or simply bid farewell to Monster Hunter Tri.

I spent countless hours hunting online in that game with friends, so it's a bit sad to see it go. Monster Hunter Tri, you're a great game, and you were the prime example of solid online functionality on the Wii. See ya, old pal.
