Rumor: Suicide Squad to feature Batman

If there's a Joker, there has to be a Batman

Suicide Squad's most recent news has been pretty Joker focused recently. After David Ayer, the writer and director of Suicide Squad, revealed Jared Leto's hair cut for the Joker role and then Leto debuted his eyebrow-less white haired Joker look soon after, it's finally time for Joker's opposite to take the stage. I'm talking about Batman.

Umberto Gonzalez of Latino Review, took to Instagram to reveal some hashtag heavy, possibly spoiler-filled information on Batman's role in Suicide Squad. Now here's the wall of text from his Instagram post (it's not pretty):

Details about THE GOD DAMN #BATMAN in #SUICIDESQUAD! #SPOILER #WARNING According to sources, in the film Batman is some sort of big boogeyman that the government REALLY hates. Get this, prior to the events in #BatmanvSuperman, THE JOKER is the only one to really ever meet him or know him and that's why he's so important to Amanda Waller. They have footage of Batman in action which they watch. There is a bit of dialogue where they say Batman is the key to tracking down all "the supers." Very cool stuff.

So in a more clear manner, let us delve into what he revealed.

  • Batman will be in the film.
  • The government does not like Batman (makes sense as Batman fights villains and Suicide Squad is based on Batman's villains being recruited by the government to perform missions).
  • The Joker has met Batman and knows why he's important to Amanda Waller.
  • The movie will feature Batman fighting villains.
  • Batman is the key to tracking down "the supers" — which has to tie into the Justice League and you know it.

Suicide Squad opens in theaters on August 5, 2016.
