Rumor: Epic Mickey 2 to feature co-op?

The rumor mill is a-buzzin' with plenty of juicy Epic Mickey gossip. According to GameInformer, a newsletter from Disney accidentally spilled the beans on the currently unannounced game. This information has been removed from the newsletter, further indicating that this was a blunder on Disney's part.

Epic Mickey 2 is supposedly being planned for release on multiple platforms. According to the newsletter, the game will launch for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. With the Wii being on its last legs, it's highly unlikely that we'll see an Epic Mickey 2 on that system. If the game is in development, however, we may see it on the Wii U.

Another element that is rumored to be included in Epic Mickey 2 is a split-screen cooperative mode. One player will take on the role of Mickey, while the second player will fill the shoes of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

Of course, this is all a rumor what with the original newsletter being proverbially burned to a crisp. Take this with the utmost speculation. I can see how Disney may want to publish a sequel to Epic Mickey, which received mixed reviews, and attempt to nail it much more successfully the second time around. We'll have to wait and see if these rumors hold any validity.
