Rise of the Tomb Raider’s main story takes 20 hours

Gonna have to double down on that for completionists

Tomb Raider is a franchise known for exploration and finding all the hidden nooks and crannies along with all the in game treasures. Simply going through the story, although encompassing, doesn't really do the series justice. In a recent interview, the game's designer spoke about the overall length of the game.

While speaking with Pixel Vulture, Mike Brinker stated that “Expect to spend around 30-40 hours getting everything done. This is gathering every weapons, ability and completing every side quest". Those who weren't interested in doing all the quests and tombs can expect about half of that time, but Brinker stressed it's about how you want to play the game. “It all comes down to how you want to play through the game. Running through the game will take you around 15 – 20 hours."

I tend to do most if not all of the side quests in Tomb Raider just b/c I like the stealth exploration aspect of the franchise. On the other hand, it can be intimidating and time consuming for those not fully immersed in the game as well. 20 hours is still a decent time for a story mode in single player and 40 hours is even better if you include all the side quests and tombs. There is still a little bit of time to download the Tomb Raider reboot from 2013 via Xbox games with gold so be sure to check it out prior to the release of Rise of the Tomb Raider November 17th.
