Ridley Scott on future Alien movies: 'I can keep cranking it for another six'

Well, if you're an Alien fan, you're in luck because there's likely going to be more. If Ridley Scott has his way, it's going to be a lot more; about six films worth according to him.

Ridley Scott may be 79 years old, but it doesn't sound like he's anywhere close to stopping his run on the Alien franchise. Alien: Covenant hasn't even hit theaters yet, and Scott apparently already has his sights set on future films. "People still want to see it," Ridley Scott told the Sydney Morning Herald when talking about his success with Prometheus. "If you really want a franchise, I can keep cranking it for another six," he said. "I'm not going to close it down again. No way."

That last quote references how he left the franchise before, first to James Cameron who delivered a solid follow-up in Aliens and then David Fincher with the not-so-great Alien 3, and finally Jean-Pierre Jeunet with Alien: Resurrection. The brand has managed to stick around in several forms with the Alien vs. Predator spin-off films and the pretty stellar Survival Horror game Alien: Isolation. With all of the different hands that have touched the brand across different mediums, it appears Ridley Scott is ready to be in the driver's seat once again.

The first trailer for Alien: Covenant recently released to the world, and it's pretty awesome.
