Remedy Confirms an Alan Wake Follow-Up

Yesterday we shared news of a job posting for Alan Wake 2. Not a day has passed and we have more news of the game straight from the source. It just might not be what you were expecting.

Remedy says it is indeed working on an Alan Wake product, but it's not Alan Wake 2. In a statement to Eurogamer, Remedy's head of franchise development Oskari Hakkinen explained, "Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming! But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. And neither will it be DLC."

After rumors that Remedy's next game would be some sort of Kinect project, the next statement is even more curious. "It's something that'll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this installment will also give an opportunity for players who aren't familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board." Are we getting an Alan Wake Kinect game?

That's certainly what it sounds like. Could it work? After all, the game is linear and the focus is on aiming and shooting. Perhaps a Kinect Alan Wake game would be an improvement over the original.

Remedy will reveal more about the game soon.
