Release dates announced for Telltale’s Game of Thrones: Episode 1 – Iron From Ice

Full-length launch trailer coming December 1

Telltale Games has announced the release dates for the first episode of their Game of Thrones series. Fans eager to jump into the new series with Episode 1: Iron From Ice — the first of six planned episodes for the first season — will be able to do so on the following dates:

  • December 2 (12/2) – PC/Mac and PS4 (SCEA)
  • December 3 (12/3) – Xbox One & 360 and PS4 (SCEE)
  • December 4 (12/4) – iOS
  • December 9 (12/9) – PS3 (SCEA and SCEE)
  • Later December – Android

Earlier this month, Telltale Games released the first teaser trailer for its Game of Thrones series, but it didn't really reveal too much about the premiere episode. The developer says a full-length launch trailer will debut on December 1, so keep your eyes open.

As we learned earlier this month, Telltale's Game of Thrones will be based on the award-winning television drama on HBO, which in turn is based on the books from George R.R. Martin, A Song of Ice and Fire.

The events in Telltale's series begin towards the end of Season Three of the TV show, and end right before the beginning of Season Five. In the game you'll play as five members of House Forrester; either a direct family member, or a person in service to the house. Characters are scattered across Westeros and Essos, each playing a part in seeking to save House Forrester from destruction. And of course, the decisions you make will impact the events that unfold throughout the season. Telltale also promises you'll visit familiar locations such as King's Landing and The Wall, as well as unfamiliar locations such as Ironrath, the home of House Forrester.

Telltale didn't announce any pricing, but a Steam page for the series revealed that the entire first season of Game of Thrones will cost $29.99, or $26.99 (a 10% discount) if you pre-order on PC. The slightly higher price is likely due to the addition of a sixth episode.
