Red Faction Armageddon Delayed, Demo Next Week

THQ has announced that their upcoming Red Faction Armageddon, originally set to arrive May 31, will instead hit a week later on June 7. THQ didn't address the reason for the delay, but it seems to be the trend lately, with so many games crowding the release schedule in the next couple of months.

To keep you busy until then, THQ would also like to remind everyone that a demo of the game will be available on May 3. Here's what you'll be up to in the demo:

“Consumers will be introduced to Darius Mason and fight their way through the Martian sewers and an oncoming alien infestation. Meanwhile, Darius must clear his name as the colonists have blamed him for unleashing the alien threat that has ravaged the underground cities of Mars.

Players will have at their disposal the Nano Forge as they combat alien invaders with concussive blasts and core-shattering tremblers. Rebuild all that you destroy with the Nano Forge's incredible Reconstruction ability. Finally, throw entire buildings at your enemies with Red Faction's signature weapon, the Magnet Gun.”

If you've seen the Magnet Gun in action, you're probably as excited for the game as I am. If you haven't had a chance to play the previous entry in the series, Red Faction Guerilla, this extra week might be the perfect opportunity. That is, if you don't end up playing this demo over and over instead.
