PlayStation Vita 3G Facing Limitations on Download Speed

Sony will be placing limitations on downloads for the PlayStation Vita 3G. According to Andriasang, a company rep shed light on the current plans for downloading content to the Vita through a 3G connection. Currently, adopters of Sony's upcoming handheld will be limited to 20 MB downloads.

The Sony rep made sure to point out that this was only the initial plan for the portable device. It's possible that the Vita will support larger downloads down the road. That would definitely be cool, though admittedly, a 20 MB limit isn't really bad.

The rep also mentioned the Vita 3G's 128Kbps download and 64Kbps upload speeds. Apparently, the company is keeping a close eye on this in order to ensure that multiplayer gaming isn't plagued with slowdown and other limitations. That's certainly good news, especially considering the Vita will undoubtedly get a Monster Hunter game (or two ... or three) during its time on the market.

So what are your thoughts on all of this Vita business? Would you rather get the 3G model or the Wi-Fi model? Will these limitations deter you from buying the Vita on day one?
