PAX East 2012 Registration Open Now
Back when E3 first closed to the public, there was a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of gamers all cried out at once and were suddenly silenced (I apologize if that's not the Star Wars quote verbatim, I'm not a big enough nerd to care). Thankfully, the boys at penny-arcade.com stepped up to the plate with PAX, a gaming convention for everyone. In the years since PAX has grown large enough to sustain itself on both coasts, with the first ever Midwest PAX convention already being planned. And today, PAX East 2012 registrations have finally opened.
So though, it may be six months away, but there's no really no good reason not to lock down a pass to this Boston, MA offshoot of the convention. Awkwardly, the convention is slated for Easter weekend, which has apparently upset Boston officials worried about the ludicrous traffic this will inspire. The PA crew also warns that badges will be strictly checked this year to combat the counterfeits running rampant at last year's event, just another reason to pre-order a badge now and assure you don't end up shelling out big bucks for a possibly fake badge.
Also - GameZone's own Vito Gesualdi (that's me) should be running around the convention like a moron with a video camera. Which frankly, is like the best reason to come.
