Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions Save Data Can't Be Deleted

One of the major gripes gamers had with Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D upon release was its locked save feature. The game doesn't allow players to delete saves, so high scores and unlockable content are all locked on the 3DS game card forever. This causes a problem for anyone looking to buy the title through the used game market.

Thankfully, Capcom addressed the issue and stated that it would refrain from doing something this pointless in the future. Unfortunately, though, it appears that someone forgot to give Namco Bandai the memo, because Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions suffers from the same ridiculous issue.

According to Wired, there is absolutely no way to delete save data in the recently released 3DS game. I don't think I need to stress how much of a problem this is. I mean, Pac-Man and Galaga are both games that are based on their high score-breaking gameplay. It's always satisfying to beat a high score in games such as these, but if someone buys the title used, they could possibly encounter a problem if the previous owner had crazy skills and set ridiculously high scores.

Let's hope this type of feature ends here. This is exactly the type of game-breaking mechanic that new titles don't need. Namco Bandai, please don't do this again.
