Nintendo Making Big E3 Reveal Regarding Zelda 25th Anniversary?
It is speculated that Nintendo may have something big planned for The Legend of Zelda at this year's E3. As you probably heard, the iconic Zelda series is celebrating its 25th anniversary, so a commemoration of some sort would be fitting. News of the reveal surfaced during a Famitsu Live broadcast, where Nintendo Producer Eiji Aonuma discussed the company's fantasy action-adventure series.
It was previously announced by Satoru Iwata that Shigeru Miyamoto had something special in store for Zelda fans to celebrate 25 years of the impressive franchise. During his Famitsu Live interview, Aonuma spent most of his time on the air detailing the upcoming Ocarina of Time 3D. However, he also mentioned that Nintendo would commemorate Zelda during their press conference at E3, which takes place in under a week.
This is exciting news, and I can't help but be envious of the folks who will be in attendance at E3 this year. Of course, this whole Zelda celebration is still considered by some to be a rumor, but I think Nintendo just might have something special in store for the E3 audience. What could the folks over at the Big N have planned?
With Ocarina of Time 3D and Skyward Sword set for launch later this year, you can bet that 2011 is a year full of plenty of content for fans of the series. Could Nintendo be turning out a commemorative collector's disc with a handful of classic Zelda titles? Will they make some other announcement regarding the future of the series?
