Next Minecon planned for spring 2015 in London

With no Minecon taking place this year, Mojang has taken to the company blog to update fans on when the next convention to celebrate all things Mojang will be held.

While the company doesn't yet have a set date for the next Minecon, they did confirm that it will be held some time in spring 2015. As for the location, Mojang is hoping to host it in London, which sounds pretty awesome.

"While we’d love to do MINECON every year and it’s the only event we do as a company, we want to make sure we can give it the attention it needs, and that means that springtime next year will work best!" Mojang Chief Operating Officer Vu Bui

"As soon as I have confirmed information it’ll be out there. We always announce as soon as we confirm with the venue and have a signed contract, but never before, because we want to make sure we can follow through with the event and we never want people to start planning to attend something that might not happen. So watch out for information in the coming months!"

In 2013, Minecon was held in Orlando, Florida. Before that, it was Disneyland Paris in France.

The Minecon update comes shortly after 4J Studios revealed Minecraft: PS4 Edition failed its certification test at Sony. The developer is still fixing bugs for the Xbox One and Vita versions.
