New Little King's Story for Vita Playable at TGS

As far as Wii games go, Little King's Story is easily one of the best titles on the platform. Sadly, it's also one of the most underrated. Due to Nintendo's lack of third-party content, Little King's Story went largely unnoticed when it first launched. Thankfully, more gamers have given it a chance after so many people have listed it as a must-play Wii game, so there's still a growing fan base for the game. Better late than never, right?

Publisher Konami has obviously been watching the progress of Little King's Story, because a sequel was just announced. Now, this game won't be coming to the Wii (because that would be commercial suicide at this point given the impending launch of the Wii U). Instead, the new Little King's Story game will land on the upcoming PlayStation Vita.

Little King's Story for Vita will feature a new story, but it will star King Corobo once more, as well as Princess Apricot. The game will also feature touch-based controls and new graphics. I'm not sure how I feel about the new visual direction, as reports have indicated that characters will look more realistic this time around. I was a big fan of the cutesy, colorful look of the first game, and I felt that it was a nice contrast to the surprisingly mature themes.

In addition to the possible new graphics, Little King's Story will also feature realistic time and weather changes. That's pretty awesome, and there are bound to be more interesting reveals as the Tokyo Game Show, where Little King's Story will be playable, draws near. Watch out for more info.
