New WWE "Showdown" Game In The Works?

Over the weekend, WWE registered two new domain names, "Boots to Asses" and "WWE Showdown".

The first one, "Boots to Asses" was created by The Rock before the Survivor Series.  The other name, "WWE Showdown" is a little more compelling, and might hint that a new WWE game is in the works.

It's expected that "WWE Showdown" is the new video game WWE has planned.  WWE has said that they wanted to release two wrestling games a year, but with WWE Brawl and WWE '13 already planned for 2012, this game could be pushed back to 2013.  WWE Brawl has a expected release for mid-2012, with WWE '13 closing out the year.

THQ has yet to officially comment on the new domain name registration, or a possible new video game being in development.  Right now, they are probably full with fixing the WWE '12 online servers, which was rumored wouldn't be fixed until January, but was later denied by WWE '12 Community Manager Marcus Stephenson.
