Mozilla launches free game demo for Browserquest

Mozilla collaborated with developer Little Workshop (@glecollinet and @whatthefranck) to make Browserquest, a free massively multiplayer adventure game. The HTML5/Javascript demo released today and is compatible with a selection of browsers and platforms.

WebSockets, a new technology that enables communication between browsers and servers online, powers the game and demonstrates its ability to create a real-time multiplayer experience on a single webpage.

Browserquest supports thousands of players and displays the total number of participants with a push of the population counter. Players can communicate through in-game chat and even team up to fight enemies. And the game looks ... adorable.
