Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection Hits XBLA, PSN This Summer

Are you still playing through Story mode in Mortal Kombat? Perhaps you're toughing it out and taking on the game's Challenge Tower. Or maybe you're unlocking alternate outfits for your fighters as you progress through the arcade-inspired Ladder mode. If you're still enjoying all the gory fighting that Mortal Kombat has to offer and can't wait for more, you better free up your schedule for the summer. Warner Bros. is releasing Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection in just a few short months.

Currently being co-developed by NetherRealm Studios and Other Ocean, Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will include Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. That's three arcade classics all in one package. This is certainly enough to get most fighting game fans stoked, but there's even more awesome news.

The compilation has been announced for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network (apparently, a PC version is also in the works), and it'll run you 800 Microsoft Points or $9.99, respectively. Put that in arcade terms, and it's three classic fighters for 40 quarters. Not a bad deal at all.

Warner Bros. has stated that the games in Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will remain true to the originals and are "arcade-perfect" ports. Additionally, the games will feature achievements and trophies, leaderboards, and online multiplayer. Watch out for Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection when it hits download markets this summer.
