Mortal Kombat officially confirmed, coming to PlayStation Vita in Spring 2012
Legendary fighting game Mortal Kombat is officially coming to the PlayStation Vita. Warner Bros. officially Konfirmed that Mortal Kombat will ship for the PlayStation Vita in Spring 2012 - adding to an already strong U.S. launch lineup. While it probably won't be released the same day the Vita releases in the United States and Europe, it's Spring release date shouldn't make gamers wait too long to get their hands on the bone-cracking, blood bursting fighting game.
Mortal Kombat on the Vita is being developed by NetherRealm Studios and will deliver an "experience designed specifically for on-the-go gaming". It is said that the game will feature all-new features and content developed exclusively for the new handheld device.
“The NetherRealm team is committed to making sure that we follow up the success of 2011’s Mortal Kombat with an equally compelling experience on the PlayStation Vita,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios. “The original game content and new features we developed for the PlayStation Vita will provide gamers with the best fighting game experience available on the new mobile platform.”
Mortal Kombat became the best-selling fighting game of 2011, selling more than three million units worldwide, and has won numerous awards including "Best Fighting Game of 2011" from Spike TV's VGAs.
