Modern Warfare 3 Most Frequently Searched Game, Battlefield 3 is Ninth

Who says Activision should be worried about Battlefield 3 stealing the spotlight from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3? While it might give the the most successful first person shooter a run for it's money, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 isn't exactly going to fade into the shadows. In fact, Activision can rest quite comfortably knowing that Modern Warfare 3 is the most frequently searched-for title not yet released on, a website dedicated games comparisons.

While many were predicted DICE's Battlefield 3 to take the crown from Modern Warfare 3, they might be surprised to find that Battlefield 3 didn't even make the top five most searched game titles. In fact, the number two spot belonged to Batman: Arkham City. Arkham City and Modern Warfare 3 were also among the most popular titles mentioned by GameCentral readers in a recent Hot Topic on the same subject.

Here's the full list of top 10 most searched-for titles according to

1) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 2) Batman: Arkham City 3) Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception 4) Assassin’s Creed Revelations 5) Metal Gear Solid HD Collection 6) Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 7) Saint’s Row: The Third 8) Football Manager 2012 9) Battlefield 3 10) Pro Evolution Soccer 2012

It's a little disturbing to see Bethesda's much-anticipated Skyrim not on the list either. Also missing is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Seeing a PS3 exclusive like Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception so high on the list, while the Xbox 360 exclusive Gears of War 3 excluded might tell us something about the users who visit Playr2.

‘We’re continuously seeing searches for video game titles yet to be released on site, as I’m sure that gaming fans are desperate to see previews or news about the titles that they’re most looking forward to being released. Quarter 4 is always a popular time for big-name releases, particularly given its proximity to Christmas, and that’s certainly the case this year with some of the year’s big name titles due for release.’ Said founder Simon Kilby.

Regardless, all of these games on the list are going to be quality games that are going to perform well in sales, but even so, it's still a little shocking to see Battlefield 3 so low on the list.
