Modern Warfare 3 Patch 1.06 Now Available on Xbox 360 and PS3

Earlier this week, Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling gave us a progress report on all of the updates Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 3 has received since its release in November.

In the post on the Call of Duty community board, Bowling also informed us of upcoming changes coming to the game.  These included additional improvements to address lag, clan tag validation, and weapon rebalancing, among other fixes.

Today, Modern Warfare 3 received it's sixth title update.  Patch 1.06 went live for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.  You should begin downloading the 4MB patch when you log into the multiplayer portion of the game.

While the udpate didn't address lag compensation, according to the patch notes released earlier, it should've fixed the following:

  • Fix Melee Jump
  • Clan Tag Validation
  • Improve Host Migration logic
  • Prevent stat Loss
  • Additional improvements ot address lag

While these should be in today's patch, Infinity Ward has much more planned, including hot fixes after todays' update to weapon rebalancing, hitmarker sound on PS3, and a reticle fix for certain weapons.

In addition to those hot fixes, IW is looking for community feedback on a number of possible changes currently in discussion.  These changes include updates tot he spawn system, further "lag compensation" or "host advantage/disadvantage", default :30 round start timer for system link only, etc.

All future changes currently being worked on or talked about can be found here.
