Microsoft Opens Beta Signups for Xbox Live Fall Update

After a false start announcement for Xbox Live preview program this morning, Microsoft has officially announced an "open call" for all Xbox Live members to register to participate in a preview program of the new Xbox Live Fall Update.  Microsoft is opening up the Xbox Live update so that users can test the system and ensure stability once it launches on November 25.

Xbox 360 participants will receive an update that will contain select dashboard features including:

•    New design for integrated Kinect and controller navigation
•    New Beacons to play online with friends
•    Deeper Facebook integration
•    New Cloud Storage for Game Saves and Xbox LIVE Profile

Those granted access to use the new dashboard can continue to play and party chat with Xbox users who are using the old dashboard.

Unlike previous registartion programs, Microsoft is offering a new method for Xbox 360 owners to register their consoles.  Xbox 360 owners looking to participate in the beta can follow the automated process, beginning here.
