Marketing Exec Peter Dille Leaves Sony Again

IGN has reported that Sony’s top marketing executive has left the company. Senior Vice President of Marketing and PlayStation Network Peter Dille departed for undisclosed reasons, said a spokesperson. Sony provided IGN with this statement: “Peter has been a dedicated and valued member of the PlayStation team for more than five years, leading the North American marketing efforts since PlayStation 3 launched in 2006, as well as helping establish the PlayStation Network as a comprehensive entertainment solution in this territory.”

This wouldn’t be the first time Dille has left the PlayStation 3 manufacturer. The executive’s original run with the company lasted between 1991 and 1999, with Dille having a big impact on the launch of the first PlayStation console. Afterward he joined THQ, filling the role of Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. Dille returned to Sony in 2006, and as mentioned above, played a pivotal role in the PlayStation 3’s release.
